Volvox
A brand built to stand out in a crowded market.
In a sector overflowing with agencies all saying roughly the same thing, Volvox needed a brand that was genuinely different — and genuinely memorable.

The Challenge
Volvox came to us with a clear challenge: the digital marketing sector is noisy, competitive, and full of agencies that look and sound alike. They had the expertise to compete with the best of them. What they needed was a brand that communicated that — one that was understandable, intrinsically linked to their services, and impossible to forget

What we did
We started with the name. Volvox is a portmanteau of the founder’s surname and the Latin word vox, meaning voice; a nod to the agency’s mission to amplify their clients’ presence. It is also, as it happens, the name of an algae that forms colonies which grow rapidly and intelligently. A happy parallel to how the agency grows its clients’ businesses.
From the name, we built an identity rooted in the hexagon, a shape with extraordinary properties. It is the most efficient shape for covering area, produces the best torque in mechanical engineering, and creates the most stable structures. For a digital marketing agency, those qualities translate directly: effective reach, optimised performance, and lasting results.
The identity combines bespoke typography with a symbol built from arranged hexagons, suggesting expansion and growth. The colour palette is retro-chic, and the visual language throughout is confident and a little unexpected; bold black and white imagery that explains complex concepts with wit and clarity.
